2 Chronicles 7:14 – if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
We have all heard or read about the bombings in Boston. This is a horrible, horrible act of cowardice that should not go unpunished for those who orchestrated it. But I believe an even greater tragedy is coming out of the events in Boston, an interfaith service.
Read 2 Chronicles 7:14 above. Now I realize this verse is overused so much that it has become cliché with regard to God healing the land and it has been used too many times with regard to America, who clearly is NOT God’s chosen people. This verse is not about America. But one thing it is about is God’s people. And if we expect to see God’s blessings on our land, we need to, as a country, become HIS people! We are nowhere near that today.
And an interfaith service will take us even farther away from becoming HIS people!
An interfaith service brings the faith traditions of 8 different faiths together and creates a service that seeks to worship a higher power. What does this do? It hedges bets. Let’s pray to the Christian God first. If that doesn’t work, let’s pray to Allah. If that doesn’t work, let’s pick another god and worship him or her. And if that doesn’t work out, let’s just say that our humanity will save us.
OH PUH-LEEZE! What does the Bible say about fence sitting?
Revelation 3:15-16 – I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
God does not like people who sit on the fence! Pick one. Just pick one.
We know this country is becoming more and more anti-Christian. In the name of tolerance, our country has become intolerant of Christians. I’ve been fired from a job, written up (numerous times) at work, ridiculed, chastised, and simply beaten down verbally for my faith in Christ. I’m not complaining, though. I call it a blessing to be able to withstand this for Christ when Christ went through so much more for me.
So what IS an interfaith service? It is a service that combines Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and a few other religious traditions into a single worship. This interfaith service will celebrate the religious traditions of several faiths. Even organizations built on Christian foundations have fallen to the cry for “tolerance” at the sacrifice of absolute morality. Look at the Boy Scouts. Ever taken the scout oath?
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
The guy that wrote Scouting for Boys, the creator of the Scouting movement, Robert Baden-Powell wrote specifically about Christianity when he said, “We aim for the practice of Christianity in their everyday life and dealings, and not merely the profession of theology on Sundays…” Now The BSA has accepted other faiths for a while, but the international scouting movement is blatantly Christian in focus.
But you might be wondering, haven’t we always been a country based on tolerance? Sure, tolerance, but accepting absolute morality does not prevent the existence and acceptance of those without same views, but it does explain that there is a moral right and a moral wrong. And as of now, we have greyed those lines so much that our most powerful person in the country, the President of the United States, is proposing that there is no single religion that this country is based upon.
But that was not the view of the founding fathers.

Does that sound like a country that would be open to worshiping every “little-g” god out there? Of course not!
So my question to you is, now that we have become a country of interfaith services and a lack of absolute morality, how is that going for you? If it so good, shouldn’t we have a happier place to live? Hmmm…the divorce rate is skyrocketing (just ask me, I’ve turned into a statistic), our children are graduating school unable to read, and we have a declining economy and children unable to eat because of lack of money while our government argues about gay rights, whether the 10 Commandments should be in public places, and whether kids can draw a gun on a piece of paper without being expelled from school.
Our priorities are screwed up.
We have forgotten the ONE, TRUE GOD! THE CREATOR!
JESUS CHRIST! THE GIVER OF LIFE! THE HEALER! THE COMFORTER!
THE HOLY SPIRIT! THE GIVER OF POWER! THE PARACLETE! OUR HELPER!
So America, let’s get rid of interfaith services. Let’s get rid of denying absolute morality. Let’s get back to the basics of the Bible and the Trinity as our God.
