Peru, Day 4
Proverbs 4:20-22 – My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body.
Today our team left early again and headed to do some heavy lifting. The wheelchair distribution will be held near the center of Lima but the warehouse to keep all of the wheelchair parts is just outside the city. We stopped at the church outreach center to pick up a few more hands. Once loaded into the bus, we headed off to the warehouse.
Once at the warehouse, a truck pulled up and we proceeded to empty the contents of the warehouse into the back of the truck. Pastor Christian and I got in the back of the truck and pulled boxes up and into it.
After loading the truck, we headed on the hour long drive to the site. Last year, the site was uncovered and was some sort of sports stadium. This year, it looks as though this is some sort of government building. We unloaded and carried the boxes to the back corner of the building, drank some coffee, laid hands on them and prayed over them.
Once we unloaded, we drove the outreach center and ate lunch. After eating, we started working on blankets that would be handed out free of charge to the poor during the winter.
While I’m not a great seamstress, lol, I was able to make these blankets with the help of everyone else. It was a great bonding activity between us.
Tomorrow will be building the wheelchairs. It won’t be easy and will be a very long day of sitting on the hard concrete and crawling around to get wheelchair parts. Prayer is helpful as the team is beginning to feel worn down and is trying to keep focus.
Mark 5:34 – He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
